Graduating from University of Queensland in 1998 with MBBS (1st year Hons), Dr Wendy went on to pursue a career in surgical training with the Royal Australiasian College of Surgeons
She spent 4 years training in General Surgery, and a further 4 years in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in various accredited posts throughout Australia.
Now Dr Wendy is a fully qualified GP with RACGP Australia. Throughout her 26 years of continuous medical practice, Dr Wendy has worked in various areas of cardiac, vascular, hand, breast and microsurgery; honing fine hand skills needed to complete these tasks. She continues to assist in these areas today as well as being a GP across 2 practices in Brisbane.
She also attained a certificate in Acupressure Massage from ACNM at the age of 16 and a certificate in Makeup from Napoleon Perdis so she could volunteer for “Look Good, Feel Better” survivors of breast cancer.

#1 What is your approach?
We approach treating faces like building a house. We have to start from a foundation and build from the ground up. Not only does your home have to be functional for you to live in, but we’d like it to be beautiful to look at too. By respecting your individual anatomy, characteristics and desires, we can make something that is truly your own.
#2 Will people know I had a treatment?
The goal of these treatments is to create a natural-looking enhancement to your appearance. “Overdone”, obvious, or unnatural look can occur with incorrect choice or placement of product. This is more likely to occur with inexperienced injectors. Often, people who know you well will remark that you look healthier, well rested, or refreshed.
#3 Will the result last forever?
No, the correction is temporary. The results last between 3 months and a year, depending on the product used, the facial area treated and your body’s ability to absorb the injected material.
#4 Will the treatment hurt?
Many of the products we use have a local anaesthetic blended into the injected material itself. In other cases, a topical anaesthetic can be used to numb the skin prior to the injection process. Either method significantly reduces the amount of discomfort experienced during the injection process. In addition, the injection process is over in a matter of minutes, and uses a very thin needle. Even sensitive areas such as the lips can be treated with minimal to no discomfort using this minimally invasive technique.
#5 What are the differences between the two types of cosmetic injectables?
The first type of cosmetic injectable is used to treat wrinkles and lines caused by repeated muscle movement, such as smile lines and forehead creases. They work by temporarily weakening the underlying muscles. The other type of cosmetic injectable is used to plump up the skin by adding volume. They may be used to fill in wrinkles caused by sagging skin, to restore volume lost to the ageing process, or to enhance areas of the face such as the lips.
#6 Can injectables be combined with other products & procedures?
Yes, many people use a combination of cosmetic procedures and products to achieve a more rejuvenated appearance. One type of cosmetic injectable relaxes the dynamic wrinkles, which are formed as part of facial expressions and when we are young they bounce back to give smooth skin. As we age this no longer happens and these wrinkles remain on the skin forming static lines; they are the lines which are present at rest. The other form of cosmetic injectable, when placed just under the skin, plumps up these lines and folds and are often used in conjunction with the first type of injectable.
